Toba Tek Singh: Jewellery shop robbery drama unveiled
TOBA TEK SINGH: As reported by the Dawn News on Tuesday, police claimed on Monday to have found a clue to the Rs2.3 million robbery at a jewellery shop occurred a month ago at grain market. A city police official said Adnan, nephew of jeweller Haji Ilyas, was allegedly involved in the robbery. He said Adnan’s contacts with criminals were proved after tracing call record of his cell number. He said Adnan, who was employed by Haji Ilyas, opened the shop in the morning. His three accomplices came to the shop, who tied him with ropes and took away gold ornaments worth Rs2.3 million. Ilyas told this correspondent that the accused had confessed to his involvement in the dacoity and returned some of the looted ornaments to him. Ilyas has filed an application with the city police seeking arrest of Adnan, his brother Rizwan, father Abdul Razzaq and other accused.
