6 JI men charged over murder case in Karachi
KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News on Wednesday, more than half a dozen workers of the Jamaat-i-Islami were booked on Tuesday for allegedly killing an activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Surjani Town, police said. Thirty-year-old Adnan Sheikh was gunned down in Sector 7-D of Surjani Town on Monday night in an alleged exchange of fire with activists of a rival political party near his home.
“The victim’s maternal uncle, Mohammad Ishaq, lodged the complaint against area workers of the JI namely Riaz alias Lagra, Azhar alias Ajaz, Saleem alias Fruit Wala, Jameel alias Jhunday Wala, Sabir alias Doodh Wala, Irfan alias Motorcycle Stand Wala, Anwar and their unidentified aides,” said an official of the Surjani Town police station.
He said that the FIR (688/2010) had been registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 109 (punishment of abetment) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
