Landi Kotal: Bomb blast hits oil tanker
LANDI KOTAL: As reported by the Dawn News on Wednesday, an explosion of mild intensity caused minor damage to an oil tanker near the Torkham border on Tuesday. The blast, which occurred at a private parking lot at around 8am, left a hole in the tanker. However, it did not cause a fire.
Nearly 25 vehicles, including some oil tankers and containers, were parked at the lot at the time of the explosion. The bomb that exploded was placed underneath the tanker, Wajid Khan, a local administrator in the Khyber tribal region, told AP news agency.
The attack didn’t result in any casualties, but the risk of fire was high since oil was leaking from the damaged tanker, he said. Authorities moved other trucks away from the vehicle as a precaution, he said.
