Landi Kotal: Office material plundered from 2 banks
LANDI KOTAL: As reported by the Dawn News on Wednesday, militants broke into two banks in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency on Monday night and took away office equipment, sources said. As cash had been removed from the banks before launching of the military operation in Sept 2009, militants only managed to take along a pistol, three close-circuit TV cameras, three computers, ceiling fans and air-conditioners.
The sources said that more than 20 armed men came to Bara at midnight on Monday in two vehicles and overpowered the watchmen of National Bank and United Bank Limited. Managements of both the banks have lodged a complaint with the political administration of Khyber Agency.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested at least six suspected militants during a search operation in Nawiye area of Bara on Tuesday. In Yousuf Talab locality of Sipah, the house of a militant commander, Shafi, was partially damaged in a blast. Sources said that the blast was caused due to explosive material kept in the house.
