Karachi: 2 shot dead in Shireen Jinnah Colony
KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News on Thursday, two young friends were killed in an ambush on their car in Shireen Jinnah Colony on Wednesday night, police said.
The officials added that Irfan and his 32-year-old friend, Shahid Wasim, were targeted by armed men riding a motorbike near the oil tankers terminal in Shireen Jinnah Colony.
They were on their way home in the car (AQD-638) when the armed men opened fire on them, the police officials said.
“Both youngsters sustained serious bullet wounds and were rushed to a nearby private hospital, where they died during the treatment,” said DSP Qamar Ahmed, the area’s supervisory police officer.
“The victims were residents of Shireen Jinnah Colony and the car was owned by their common friend,” the DSP added.
Father of three, Shahid Wasim was associated with the oil tankers business, while Irfan was unmarried and ran a television cable service in the area.
“While the exact motive behind the firing is not clear, initial findings show that there was some personal dispute or a conflict of business of one of the victims with a rival group,” DSP Ahmed said.
