Karachi: Elderly man slashed to death
KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News on Thursday, an elderly man was slaughtered to death in the Jamsed Quarters area in the early hours of Wednesday. The area police said Ramzan Masih in his late 70s was attacked when he was asleep outside his home in Punjabi Para.
“He has multiple wounds on his body caused by some sharp object or knife,” said an official at the Jamshed Quarters police station. “The attacker also cut his throat. He was found dead early in the morning by family members.”
Father of five, the victim was a sanitary worker and settled in the area for the last several years. The body was handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities. “The family denies victim’s enmity with any individual or group. Similarly it does not seem to be an attempt of mugging or street crime. It is not clear what was the motive behind the murder at this juncture,” said the police official.
