Karachi: Youth shot dead in Qasba Colony
KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News on Sunday, a young man was gunned down in Qasba Colony and his friend sustained bullet wounds when armed men on a motorbike fired at them outside a roadside hotel on Saturday, officials said.
The area police said that the victim identified as 28-year-old Haq Nawaz Afridi was sitting with his friend Nooruddin outside a teashop near Chakki Hotel when two men on a motorbike stopped close to them.
“As told by a few witnesses one of the bikers got off the bike, took out a pistol and fired multiple shots at both the youngsters,” said Inspector Rahim Khan, SHO of the Pirabad Police Station.
“Haq Nawaz sustained three bullet wounds and died on the spot and Noorddin was hit in the left shoulder. He has been shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for the treatment.”
He said that the deceased was unmarried and living with his family in the same area like his friend, who was also the resident of the same area.
“The family denies enmity of the victim with any individual or group. As we investigated, initial findings suggested that it was not even a robbery attempt,” he said, adding that the body was handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities.
