Lahore: Elderly farmer gunned down
LAHORE: As reported by The Nation on Monday, some unknown accused persons killed a 50-year-old farmer, father of three, over abusive attitude in Kahna police station area in the wee hours of Sunday.
Police investigators said the deceased, identified as Arshad alias Achi, was watering his crops in Dhoop Sari village at Kaacha Road at about 4:00am when he allegedly abused the people passing through his meadows. An investigator, requesting not to be named, said according to Javed Masih, an employee of the deceased, Arshad noticed the presence of some people in his pastures.
He further informed that first Arshad inquired about them but when they remained silent, the deceased abused them on which they opened fire on Arshad. As a result of this Arshad sustained severe bullet injuries, he added. He was rushed to a hospital where he breathed his last. A case has been registered with no arrest till filing of this report. Further investigations are underway.
