Dacoits strike 4 times in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: As reported by the Dawn News on Tuesday, four homes were looted in the city on Monday, depriving the inmates of gold, cash, and valuables, police said.
Dr Farooq told the New Town police that answering the doorbell when the main door was opened three unidentified men entered the home and made the family hostage. He said the robbers took away Rs3.2 million gold ornaments weighing 80 tolas, two cellphones, and Rs20,000.
Mohammad Rafiq, who lives in Afshan Colony, was shot and injured by two unidentified gunmen who entered his house. They took away Rs6,000 and other valuables. He was taken to hospital where he was in stable condition. Similarly, four unidentified robbers entered the house of Mohammad Anwar in Chaklala Housing Scheme III and escaped with Rs20,000 and electronic goods. Three gunmen entered the home of Arshad Iqbal, a resident of Waris Khan, and snatched Rs40,000 and gold jewellery.
