Lahore: Court frees girl from husband’s custody
LAHORE: As reported by The News on Tuesday, the district and session court on Monday allowed a girl to go with her father after getting her recovered from the custody of husband.
A citizen, Muhammad Samiullah, had filed a habeas corpus petition in the court alleging that his son-in-law Muhammad Sajjad had been keeping his daughter Sadia in his custody against her will.
He said his son-in-law was not treating her daughter well and the life of his daughter was in danger.
He implored the court for the recovery of her daughter. The court deputed a bailiff who recovered the girl from the house of Sajjad in the Cantt area and produced her before the court.
Recording her statement before the court, Sadia wished to go with her father. Later, she was allowed to go with her father.
