Court summons Sh Waqas in fake degree case
LAHORE: As reported by The News on Wednesday, an election tribunal of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on an election petition on Tuesday issued a notice for October 28 to PML-Q MNA Sheikh Waqas Akram.
The tribunal issued the notice to Waqas Akram, who was elected from NA-89, Jhang-IV, on an election petition moved by Hafiz Khalid Mahmood, a voter from the same constituency, challenging his election.
Petitioner alleged that Waqas Akram had fake degrees of FA and BA and as such could not contest the election.
He said Waqas Akram was not competent to hold the seat under Article 62 and Article 63 of the Constitution and should be declared disqualified to hold the MNA office.
