Quetta: Feuding tribes agree to armistice
QUETTA: According to the Dawn News on Wednesday, a jirga brokered a temporary ceasefire between Lehri and Lango tribes on Tuesday and elders on both sides agreed not to attack each other till the feud was settled through negotiations.
The jirga comprised Nawab Mohammad Shahwani, Sardar Kamal Khan Bungulzai, Sardar Ahmed Khan Sarpara, Sardar Nauroz Khan Satakzai, Syed Shabir Shah of Kirani, Mir Kabir Ahmed and Maulvi Ataullah Lango.
The jirga held negotiations with the representatives of two tribes who agreed to the suggestion to cease fire for two months to allow jirga members to ascertain facts and figures to settle the dispute in accordance with traditions of Balochistan. The feud has claimed 15 lives on both sides.
