Gujrat: Criminal injured by their own aides in encounter
GUJRAT: As reported by the Dawn News on Thursday, a man was injured during an alleged encounter of Kharian police with Syed Nasir Abbas Shah, the younger brother of former district naib nazim Syed Noorul Hasan Shah of the PML-N near Uttowal area on Kharian-Dinga Road on Wednesday.
The police said a contingent led by Kharian Saddar SHO Malik Aamir intercepted a car for a search, but Abbas Shah did not allow it. Later, one of the four armed occupants fired at law enforcers, but the bullet hit one of their own accomplices.
Saddar police have registered a case against Abbas Shah and his three unidentified accomplices under sections 324, 353, 186, 34, 320 and 65 of the PPC on the report of the SHO.
Injured Sajjad Hussain Shah of Kulewal village, who was not nominated in the FIR, was shifted to Kharian CMH in a critical condition.
Former district naib nazim Noor Shah told reporters that his family members had to carry licensed arms because of their rivalry, but the police disgraced his brother.
He alleged that ASI Talat Abbas injured his brother’s companion with a gunshot fire, but ironically the case was registered against his brother Nasir Abbas and his companions. He urged the chief minister and the IGP to probe the matter indiscriminately to provide them justice and protection.
The sources said Abbas Shah had slapped SHO Malik Aamir after exchanging hot words with him. The constables got infuriated and both parties started quarreling. In the meantime, Sajjad Shah hit a bullet and both parties started blaming each other for opening a fire.
