Karachi: As reported by the Dawn News on Thursday, police seized a TT pistol and a few thousand rupees found in the possession of two housemaids and arrested them for trying to commit a robbery in an apartment in Bahadurabad.
The police said that Danish alias Maria and Nadia worked as housemaids in the flat of Sobia Shahzad. On Wednesday, they found Sobia alone in the apartment and tried to overpower her by hitting her with a pistol butt in the head. As she cried for help, a watchman on the rooftop and women from the neighbouring apartments gathered outside the locked door of the flat and informed the police.
The police arrived, broke open the door and nabbed the two suspects. They also seized a TT pistol and few thousand rupees were from the possession of the two accused.
An FIR (455/2010) under Section 394 of the PPC was registered on the complaint of Sobia Shahzad and another FIR (456/2010) under Section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance was registered on behalf of the state at the New Town police station.
