Karachi: Prayer leader immured for assaulting boy
KARACHI: As reported by The News on Friday, Additional District and Sessions Court (ADSC) Judge South Jangu Khan announced two years imprisonment to a prayer leader of a local mosque for assaulting a teenage boy. The judge found Nasir alias Mullah guilty for battering and sexually harassing 15-year-old Syed Usman Ghazi. He would also have to pay a fine of Rs5,000. In case of non-payment he would undergo another six months imprisonment.
According to the prosecution Tasaduq Hussain father of Ghazi lodged a complaint in the Saddar police station that his son was assaulted by a prayer leader. On March 6, 2009 his son went to read the Holy Quran in Minara Masjid within the limits of Shahrah-e-Iraq. As the students were reciting the Quran Nasir asked Ghazi to come to his room where he assaulted him.
