Peshawar: 2 arrested with explosives
PESHAWAR: According to the Dawn News on Sunday, Police claimed to have arrested two suspected militants and recovered explosive from their possession in the limits of Peshtakhara police station here on Saturday.
An official said that during patrolling police signalled a pedestrian at Achini Bridge but he tried to flee. Police arrested him and recovered a four-kilogram explosive from his possession. He introduced himself as Zakir son of Abdul Qayum, a resident of Bara and a member of the Mangal Bagh-led Lashkar-i-Islam.
Similarly, police also arrested another suspected militant near Taj Abad graveyard. The arrested persons introduced himself as Amjad son of Sehar Khan, a resident of Bara. He was also holding a black shopping bag which contained ghee canister filled with about three kilograms of explosives.
Quoting their statements, the official said that the accused were involved in blasts at different government-run schools in the suburban villages of Peshawar.
