Karachi: 5 party workers held for killings
KARACHI: According to the Dawn News on Saturday, five workers of the Awami National Party were on Friday nominated in an FIR regarding the killing of three activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, police said.
They said that the FIR (986/2010) was lodged on the complaint of Wahab Khan, the father of one of the victims, against Liaquat Bangash and four other workers of the ANP under sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Sharea Faisal police station.
The bodies of the MQM workers — Sabir Ali, Shahbaz Ahmed Khan and Mohammad Shahid — were found in an abandoned car at Malir Halt on Thursday morning.
A spokesman for the ANP confirmed that Liaquat Bangash and the four booked suspects were affiliated with the party.
He claimed that Saeed, a worker nominated in the FIR, had left the city for his hometown a few months back while another worker, Dilawar, returned to the metropolis only on Friday morning.
