Rawalpindi: Man kills daughter over marriage issue
RAWALPINDI: As reported by the Dawn News on Sunday, a man axed his teenaged daughter to death on Saturday morning because he was angry over her demand for marrying a man of her choice. Police said Manga Khan, a labourer, killed 16-year-old Aziza Bibi with a hatchet.
Kaneez Bibi, the mother of the deceased, lodged a complaint with the Civil Lines police that her husband killed Aziza because he feared that she would elope with a man of her choice.
Manga, the father of four girls and three boys, was reportedly disturbed over the behaviour of his daughter. Two of his daughters had already married men of their choice and he did not want Aziza to do the same. According to preliminary investigations, Manga, who hailed from Sargodha and lived in a rented house near Ghosia Chowk, escaped from the crime scene with the hatchet. The family took Aziza’s body to their native village for burial.
