Blast injures 3 on Davies Road
LAHORE: As reported by the Dawn News on Tuesday, three people, including two minor girls, sustained injuries in a low-intensity `blast’ near Pakistan Muslim League House on Davies Road on Monday. The injured identified as Abdul Ghaffar, a scavenger, and Hadiqa and Hania, two sisters, were rushed to hospital.
Civil Lines Division SP Umer Saeed told Dawn that the police took injured Ghaffar of Attock district into custody suspecting his involvement in the incident. He was presently living on Habibullah Road in Garhi Shaho area. Quoting bomb disposable squad, the SP said a low-intensity explosive was used. The blast neither produced any crater nor gunpowder was found from the site, he said.
A police source said Ghaffar told the investigators that the blast took place when he touched a bag carrying a piece of iron. The bag was lying in a dustbin at the site. The Racecourse police have registered a case under Explosive Substance Act.
