Karachi: Bandits shoot dead vendor
KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News on Monday, bandits killed a fruit vendor when he resisted a robbery bid in the Saddar area late Thursday night.
The police said that two armed men intercepted Asghar and his friend Mohammad Ali near Masjid Gulzar-e-Habib within the remit of the Saddar police station when they were returning home after earning their livelihood.
They said that the bandits demanded cash and Mohammad Ali gave them whatever he had. However, Asghar offered resistance upon which one of the bandits opened fire and fled. He was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where he died during treatment.
An FIR (423/2010) under Section 397, 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) was lodged against unknown persons on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Intizar Baig, at the Saddar Police Station.
