Lahore: Man electrocuted to death during escape
LAHORE: As reported by The News on Tuesday, an alleged gambler died after he jumped over live electricity wires to escape arrest during a raid by Ghalib Market police on Monday. The deceased was identified as Waqar, a resident of Pattoki. Five accused were arrested during the raid.
Tahir, the owner of an under construction plaza near Main Market, informed police that some people were gambling at his plaza. Police raided there. Accused Waqar while trying to escape fell on live electricity wires. As a result, he was electrocuted. Police arrest his five accomplices, identified as Arshad, Saleem, Ramazan, Akram and Muhammad Saleem.
However, one of the arrested accused claimed that they were masseurs, not gamblers and they were sleeping on the roof of the plaza.
