Rawalpindi: Police submits challan of Faisal Shahzad’s friends
RAWALPINDI: As reported by The News on Tuesday, police have presented a complete challan of alleged close friends of Faisal Shahzad, who have been convicted and jailed in the Times Square attack case.
Police, in the Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) No-I of Judge Malik Muhammad Akram Awan, said that the accused are the members of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The court has adjourned further hearing of case till October 26.
Sihala Police Station had registered a case under Terrorist Act against accused Hunmbal Akhtar, Muhammad Shahid and Muhammad Shoiab on September 5, 2010. Police said in the challan that accused had close contacts with Faisal Shahzad involved in planning to attack Time Square.
They had contacts through Internet. They sent 13,500 dollars to Faisal Shahzad. A terrorist Faqir Muhammad involved in suicide attack in Muzaffarabad was living in the house of Muhammad Shoiab, a friend of Faisal Shahzad, police said.
According to police challan, the three accused, Hunmbal Akhtar, Muhammad Shahid and Muhammad Shoaib, met Hakeemullah Mehsud and committed different terrorist activities.
