Rawalpindi: Jewellery, pounds, euros looted from Westridge
RAWALPINDI: According to the Dawn News on Wednesday, five gunmen looted a house in Westridge on Tuesday.
Majid Khan told police that somebody rang the doorbell of his house, and when he opened the door some men forced their way into the house.
Two robbers held the inmates at gunpoint while the other three searched the house.
They then escaped with gold ornaments having a market value of Rs4.8 million, 8,000 British pounds, 1,500 euros, seven wrist watches, five cellphones and two cameras.
Earlier, the Westridge and R.A. Bazaar police were unable to settle the jurisdiction of the crime scene.
Majid Khan told Dawn he had informed the police well in time, but they could not trace the robbers even though one of the stolen mobile phones remained switched on for more than two hours.
He claimed: “The Westridge and R.A. Bazaar police came but they did nothing to trace the robbers nor did they register the FIR.”
