Arrest warrant for Bannu DCO issued
BANNU: As reported by The News on Thursday, following the arrest warrant issued by a local court, the executive district officer (education) was arrested and bailed out while the district coordination officer went into hiding, court sources said on Wednesday.
The sources said the complainant, Musarrat Shaheen, who is a schoolteacher, filed a complaint against EDO (Education) Bakhtullah Shah and DCO Zahir Shah in the court of Civil Judge Rehmatullah Mahsud on May 12 last.
The judge issued several notices to both the officials to appear before the court but they avoided receiving the summons.
The judge finally issued warrant for arrest of the officials on October 18. EDO Bakhtullah Shah was arrested and bailed out after being detained for three days while the DCO went into hiding.
The judge forwarded the case to the district and sessions judge of Bannu for registration of the first information report (FIR) against the two officials for not appearing in the court to clear their position with regard to the charges levelled by the complainant.
