Lahore: CJ LHC takes suo motu notice of girl’s abduction
LAHORE: According to The News Thursday, the chief justice of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday took suo motu notice of the abduction of a girl and summoned the SP Model Town along with record of the case on Thursday (today).
Chief Justice Khawaja Sharif initiated suo motu proceedings on an application submitted by Agha Nadeem Haroon, father of the girl Mehreen Raza. He said that her daughter was abducted on June 8 and a case was registered in this regard. He said on June 11, he came to know through a news item that her daughter was detained at the Canal View Guest House, Johar Town, and he visited that place.
The manager of the state house admitted before the investigator and locals that the girl was in his custody and she would be sent to her home in the evening but she was still not recovered. The CJ observed that on CCPO’s direction, the SP Model Town had conducted an inquiry into the case and reported that efforts were underway to recover the girl and nab the culprits and the CCPO had now again submitted the same report.
The CJ observed that the case was a classic example of police failure to recover the abducted girl and to take action against the culprits.
