Islamabad: PTA, FIA maraud 2 illegal telecom exchanges
ISLAMABAD: As reported by the Daily Times on Saturday, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), jointly, conducted raids on two illegal telecom exchanges in the federal capital on Friday and apprehended two persons.
They raided the exchanges in F-11 Markaz and E-11 Markaz and confiscated two operational illegal setups consisting of several gateways, tellulars, switches, routers and other accessories.
PTA has conducted 38 successful raids on gray traffickers in various cities across the country in the last one and a half years arresting the persons involved in this illegal business including foreigners and confiscating over 60 gateways, hundreds of SIMs/connections and other accessories.
Those arrested are being interrogated by FIA in order to recover the loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer.
