Peshawar: More stolen Nato goods recouped
PESHAWAR: As reported by the Dawn News on Saturday, Police on Friday recovered more stolen Nato goods from a warehouse here at Karkhano Market, officials said.
Hayatabad police SHO Shaukat Khan told Dawn that they recovered the goods meant for Nato forces in Afghanistan from a warehouse owned by an Afghan national Pakhtun Khan. However, he said that the owner could not be arrested because most businesses in the market remained close on Friday.
He said the seized items included spare parts of vehicles and kits of agriculture tools.
He said that list of the items would be prepared on Saturday (today), as it was difficult to check the confiscated goods in the darkness.
Mr Khan said that Hayatabad police had registered the case and were making efforts to arrest the gang involved in stealing of Nato goods.
Earlier, police recovered valuable stolen items meant for Nato forces on Oct 20. A warehouse in Nishat Mills in Peshawar was raided on a tip-off and about 44 different stolen items of Nato were retrieved from the warehouse.
The owner of the building identified as Jam Mohammad of Mathra was also arrested.
