MINGORA: According to the Dawn News on Sunday, two militants were killed when they tried to escape from the custody of security forces in Arain area of Behrain on Saturday.
Sources said that two militants, in the custody of security forces, were brought to Arain village to pinpoint arms and explosives dumped in the area.
However, instead they tried to flee so the security forces personnel resorted to firing. As a result both of them identified as Mohammad Javed and Mohammad Iqbal, residents of Arain, were killed on the spot. The bodies were later handed over to relatives for burial.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested several suspected persons during raids in various localities of Shakar Dara of tehsil Matta.
Security forces laid a siege to the area and launched search operation in the morning. Scores of local people were rounded up.
After preliminary investigation several of them were detained and shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.
