Quetta: JUI-I leader killed
QUETTA: As reported by the Dawn News on Tuesday, Sheikh Mohammad Ayub Khan, the Zhob district chief of the JUI-I was gunned down on Monday morning. “He was hit by 11 bullets,” a police officer said. Sheikh Ayub was having a morning walk on the outskirts of Zhob town when two masked men on a motorbike shot him.
His body was taken to a hospital where hundreds of party workers and leaders gathered. The deceased had been associated with the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam since long and had joined the JUI-Ideological headed by Maulana Asmatullah after developing differences with the group led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Official sources said that Abdullah Mehsud, former chief of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, had blown himself up in Sheikh Ayub’s house in 2007 after he had been surrounded by security personnel.
