KALAYA: As reported by the Dawn News on Tuesday, three people were killed and two injured in a roadside bomb blast in the lower tehsil of Orakzai Agency on Monday. A vehicle carrying passengers from Kalaya was going to Kohat when an explosive device placed by the road near Tanda area was detonated by remote control.
After the blast security personnel cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. The deceased were identified as Zahid Ali, Kausar Ali and Gul Hassan. A woman and a child were injured. Local people said that elders of seven tribes had held a jirga at the same spot against the Taliban.
Meanwhile, several security personnel suffered minor injuries when some unidentified people hurled a hand grenade on them in Bagato area of Hangu. Police said the personnel were conducting a search operation when they came under attack. An official said 28 suspects were arrested and their weapons seized.
