Haripur: 2 Utility Store officials collared for selling sugar in market
HARIPUR: According to the Dawn News on Wednesday, the FIA regional authorities raided a Utility Stores outlet in Dheenda village on Tuesday and arrested two officials on charges of selling sugar to shopkeepers and also seized 12 sacks of the commodity.
The FIA Hazara region had received complaints from the area people that the officials of Utility Store Corporation Dheenda outlet had been involved in selling sugar to shopkeepers unlawfully which was meant for general public on subsidised rates.
The FIA raiding party headed by Inspector Ehjaz Goga and accompanied by the area sales manager of USC Mohammad Iqbal and account officials, recovered 12 sacks of sugar from the outlet.
The consignment, according to FIA officials, was to be sent to some shopkeepers by the sales men after filling the sacks from the five kg and two kg bags.
The arrested men were identified as Yasir Kiyani and Raja Nazakat Kiyani.
It may be added the complaints of selling sugar to shopkeepers by USC officials from most outlets of the city is common and the people have time and again pointed out such kind of irregularities but the local USC administrators did not take any steps to curb the malpractice.
