Islamabad: 50 suspects arrested in police search operation
ISLAMABAD: As reported by the Dawn News on Wednesday, Islamabad police arrested 50 persons on Tuesday as it launched a operation against ‘anti-social elements’, a day after the attack at the shrine of Baba Farid Ganjshakar. As the security was tightened up in the capital, SSP Tahir Alam Khan said the search operation was to arrest criminals living in slum areas and under construction plazas. Mr Khan said extra deployment had been made in various areas, with strict vigilance at sensitive points.
Sihala police arrested 22 suspects from Model Town, Humak while Tarnol police arrested 10 suspects from Dhoke Paracha. Similarly Secretariat police arrested five suspects in Mohallah Nori Bagh, Shehzad Town police arrested six and Koral police arrested seven suspects.
