Lahore: 2 killed in clash between rivals group
LAHORE: As reported by the Dawn News on Wednesday, six armed men allegedly shot dead two people and injured as many others over an old enmity in Badami Bagh area on Tuesday. Reports said Liaquat alias Lalu group had an old enmity with Azam group for the last two years. They also had litigations when Liaquat along with some armed men allegedly shot dead five people of his rival group in 2009 and a case was registered against them under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Early on Tuesday, the police said, Abid Ali, Muhammad Sajjad, Fayyaz Ahmad and Babar Ali of Azam group left their residence for the court. When they reached Double Sarrkan Stop near Sheikhanabad, six men riding on three motorcycles opened fire, injuring them critically. The assailants later fled the scene. Police along with Rescue 1122 and Edhi officials shifted the injured to Mayo Hospital where Abid and Sajjad succumbed to their wounds while the condition of the other two was said to be critical.
