Lahore: Suspect in fake kidnapping plot arrested
LAHORE: As reported by the Dawn News on Wednesday, Mustafabad police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a man who allegedly made a plot to implicate his brother-in-law in a fake kidnapping for ransom case to get hold of his property. Cantonment Division Investigation SP Kamran Adil told reporters that Nadeem Shahzad lodged a case with Mustafaabad police on Oct 19, alleging that two unidentified men had kidnapped his two-year-old son Iriza Ali for ransom. Later, he told police that his brother-in-law Faraz Ahmad might have kidnapped his son and he be arrested to recover the child.
The SP said he formed a team headed by North Cantonment Circle DSP Babar Bin Dilawar to investigate the case. The police team interrogated Shahzad and he admitted his guilt. He told the police that he plotted the case to implicate Ahmad to get hold of his property. SP Adil said the police also found the child from the custody of Shahzad’s accomplice Arshad Khan and registered a case against both of them.
