Court convicts 5 drug traffickers in Lahore
LAHORE: As reported by The News on Friday, Additional District and Sessions judges on Thursday convicted five drug pushers nominated in different narcotics cases. Additional District and Sessions Judge (ASJ) Muhammad Azam has awarded a six-month confinement to Javed Masih, as he was proved guilty of possessing 300 grams of hashish. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs. 10000 on him. Manawan Police had arrested Javed in 2009.
Meanwhile, ASJ Mohsin Raza Khan has awarded a six-month jail to drug pusher namely Saqlain. The court has imposed a fine of Rs. 2000 on him. Muzzang Police had arrested Saqlain and had recovered 300 grams of hashish from his possession.
ASJ Akhtar Bhadar has also awarded a four-month confinement to Muhammad Akram along with an imposition of fine of Rs. 1000. He was arrested by Gwalmandi Police in January. Police had recovered 145 grams of hashish from his possession. The same court, dealing with another narcotics case, has awarded four-month jail to Shahid Mehmud, as he was proved guilty of possessing 180 grams of hashish. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs. 1000 on him. He was also arrested by Gwalmandi Police. On Thursday, the same court while concluding third narcotics case has awarded four and half-month imprisonment to Shahbaz Masih along with a fine of Rs. 1000.
