Karachi: AEC spifflicates 2 illegal farms houses in Gadap
KARACHI: As reported by The News on Saturday, the personnel of Anti-Encroachment Cell (AEC) demolished two farms which had been established illegally on government land in Gadap Town.
Superintendent of Police of AEC, Irfan Bahadur, said that he had received some information that some farm houses had been established illegally in Gadap Town on the land of the Revenue Department of Sindh.
In this regard, he sent his personnel for a survey to check the land’s location, and during the survey it transpired that the farms had been constructed illegally.
SP Bahadur said that he, along with his team and employees of the city government with bulldozers, went to the spot on Friday afternoon.
Initially, they faced some resistance, but they later managed to have the Memon Farm House situated in Gadap Town demolished after having called more force.
The farm had been constructed on eight acres of land of the Revenue Department of Sindh.
In another operation, they demolished 10 acres of land occupied by Cheeko Farm House in Gadap Town.
He said that a raid had also been conducted in Deh 22 of Hawkesbay Scheme where some land grabbers had occupied a government land belonging to the Revenue Department of Sindh.
The police team after a successful operation cleared about 22 acres of land. Search for the accused was under way.
