Lahore: 5 drug pushers convicted
LAHORE: As reported by The News on Saturday, Additional District and Sessions judges on Friday convicted five drug pushers nominated in different narcotics cases.
Additional District and Sessions Judge (ASJ) Chaudhry Muhammad Azam has awarded an eight-month confinement to Maqbol Ahmed. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 on the convict.
According to case details, Lower Mall Police had arrested Maqbol in 2009 and recovered 280 grams of hashish from his possession.
The same court, dealing with another narcotics case, has awarded a six-month jail term to drug peddler Pervaiz, as he was proved guilty of possessing 500 grams of hashish.
The court has also imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 on him. He was arrested by Larri Adda Police.
On Friday, the same court, while concluding third narcotics case, has awarded a six-month imprisonment to Asgher Ali along with a fine of Rs. 5,000.
Green Town Police had arrested Asgher and seized 500 grams of hashish.
Meanwhile, ASJ Naseem Ahmed Virk has awarded a four-month jail to drug pusher namely Rizwan. The court has imposed a fine of Rs. 1,000 him.
Muzzang Police had arrested Rizwan and recovered 110 grams of hashish from his possession. ASJ Muhammad Akram Chaudhry has also awarded a four-month confinement to Qasim along with an imposition of a fine of Rs. 1,000.
He was arrested by Muzzang. Police had recovered 200 grams of hashish from his possession. In case of default, the convict will undergo further imprisonment.
