Mansehra: Police recover Rs2.7million stolen money
MANSEHRA: As reported by the Dawn News on Sunday, Mansehra police on Saturday arrested a man who had stolen Rs2.7 million which was paid to families of two slain men to settle a feud. Officials said in 2008 Mohammad five men had killed two brothers Abdul Majeed and Mohammad Nasir over ownership of a piece of land.
A local jirga settled the case and imposed Rs9 million on the assailants as compensation for the victims’ families. Aurangzeb of Mari Shahkhail, relative of slain brothers, was nominated as guardian of their minor children, but he (Aurangzeb) stole an amount of Rs2.7 million and fled. Police lodged FIR against Aurangzeb and recovered the stolen amount after arresting him.
