Peshawar: Police foil bomb attack
PESHAWAR: As reported by the Dawn News on Tuesday, police claimed on Monday to have foiled a sabotage attempt by defusing a powerful bomb planted on a roadside here. An official of Bana Mani police station said suspected militants had planted an explosive device along a road in Gul Gasht Colony but the personnel of bomb disposal unit defused it.
He said following information about presence of the bomb, the area police rushed to the spot along with the BDU personnel. The explosive, he said, had been planted in a canister which weighed about 3kg. The possible target, he claimed, were police, which used to patrol the area.
