Karachi: ATC indicts 3 bank robbers

KARACHI: As reported by the Dawn News on Thursday, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday indicted three men in a bank heist case.

Shahjehan alias Arman, Allahuddin alias Ali Abdullah and Syed Mohammad Atif along with their accomplice Umair, who died later, have been charged with robbing a bank within the remit of the Orangi Town Police Station in June 2010 and attacking a police party with unlicensed weapons and explosive material in order to avoid their arrest.



An FIR No 379/2010 was registered against the suspects under Sections 392 (punishment for robbery), 379 (robbery or dacoity with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt), 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 324 (attempted murder), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) and 37 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act read with Section 7 of the Anti-terrorism Act on the complaint of the bank branch manager at the Orangi Town Police Station.
