Rawalpindi: 2 expats robbed in PIA flight
RAWALPINDI: As reported by the Dawn News on Thursday, two expatriates on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Karachi to Islamabad lost more than 15,000 Saudi riyals on Tuesday, one of the victims said.
Mohammad Tahir, who took a PIA flight (PK-300) from Karachi for Islamabad on Monday morning, said his pocket was picked during the flight.
His wallet containing 14,000 Saudi riyals was lost. He has come to Pakistan on vacation from Saudi Arabia, where he works for an oil exploration company in Dhahran.
Tahir informed the airport security staff after arriving at Benazir International Airport about losing money during the flight.
“Absolutely, it happened in the flight as some passengers in were acting suspiciously while I was collecting hand baggage.” He asked the security staff to check all passengers of the flight but they said it was not possible for them.
Another passenger Mohammad Zaheer, who was also travelling in the same flight, lost his wallet containing 1,600 Saudi riyals. According to sources, the two victims left for their homes after failing to get attention of security personnel.
