Robbers strike 2 times in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: As reported by the Dawn News on Friday, two armed robbers looted Rs7 million from a brick kiln owner at gunpoint in Westridge, while three gunmen robbed a woman of Rs9,000 in cash and jewellary at her doorstep in Satellite Town on Thursday and escaped. Fazal Abbas, the owner of a brick kiln was on his way to a bank branch to deposit Rs7 million when two smartly dressed armed robbers riding on a motorbike intercepted him in Westridge and forced him to stop his car.
He said the gunmen broke the window glass of his car and put their guns on his head and snatched the bag containing Rs7 million. Naveed Arif, a resident of Satellite Town hardly had returned home with his mother from the market and parked his car outside his house when three unidentified robbers appeared on the scene and held his mother hostage at gunpoint. The gunmen snatched Rs 9,000 in cash from her in addition to four gold bangles, gold rings and two cellphones and escaped.
