Karachi: Customs clutches 350 gms of white heroin
KARACHI: As reported by The News on Saturday, the personnel of the Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell (DEC), recovered and seized 350 grams white heroin concealed in an interior-dÈcor book.
Qamar Thalho, a senior officer of the Customs, said that the DEC staff intercepted an outbound international parcel which was booked from Islamabad for an address in Pretoria (South Africa).
It may be added here that in recent years the Pakistan Customs has observed a trend of heroin smuggling to the Far East and African destinations and as such the staff at different exit and export points of the country remains on high alert to deal with any attempts of drug trafficking to these high risk countries.
Consequent upon recovery and seizure of heroin, a prosecution case under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997 has been registered against the sender.
