Lahore: Blast near police checkpost
LAHORE: As reported by the Dawn News on Monday, a low-intensity explosive device went off adjacent to the rear wall of the Nawab Town Police Checkpost in Hanjarwal area on Sunday.
No casualty was reported in the incident which the Police believed was the continuation of series of such blasts across the city aimed at creating scare among the Police. The on-duty policemen rushed to the spot to handle the situation.
DIG (Operations) Rao Sardar Ali Khan told Dawn News that the device apparently carried one kilogramme explosive which damaged the base of the wall.
He said the Police had launched an investigation to determine whether the device was thrown or dumped by suspect(s).
