Peshawar: 4 killed as Jirga turns into battlefield
PESHAWAR: As reported by The News on Wednesday, four persons were killed when two rival groups opened fire on each other during a Jirga in Marozai Village in the jurisdiction of Badaber Police Station on Tuesday.
A police official said a Jirga was in progress in Marozai to settle a dispute on ownership of a wall between two cousins, Shah Wali and Raz Mohammad.
During the Jirga, he said, people from the two sides exchanged harsh words and later opened fire on each other.
Two members of the Jirga, Shakirullah and Ihsanullah along with Gul Wali, a brother of Shah Wali, were killed in the firing while Abdul Wali, two women and an unidentified man sustained serious bullet injuries.
There were reports that Abdul Wali later expired at the hospital.
