Karachi: Man awarded death sentence for killing relatives
Karachi: According to The News, District and Sessions Judge Malir, Kauser Bukhari awarded death sentence twice over to an accused, Zainullah, for killing two close relative, Naveed Khan, cousin and Sudheer, brother-in-law over a petty domestic issue in 2006 in the remit of the Quaidabad police station.
In his remarks the judge observed that as the convict committed a double murder, he was being sentenced to death twice over. According to Prosecution on September 21, 2006, Zainullah opened fire with his double-barreled gun from the rooftop of his house at Naveed Khan and Sudheer with the result that Naveed died on the spot and Sudheer succumbed to injuries in the hospital. Another person Ameer Mohammed Hussain was injured in the firing. The police arrested Zainullah soon after the incident and lodged a complaint in the Quaidabad police station under Section 302 on the complaint of Imran Khan. All the accused, deceased, and complainants were closely related to each other. The elders of the family tried to defuse the situation but it got worse and Zainullah opened fire at them.
