35 peasants freed from landlord’s private cell in MPK
MIRPURKHAS: As reported by The News on Friday, police recovered at least 35 peasants, including women and children from illegal confinement of a landlord near Hingorno town on Thursday. The action was taken on the directives of District and Session Court, Mirpurkhas, following complaints by Padmoo Bheel and Bhutiyo Kolhi stating that their family members are illegally detained by the landlord.
Heavy contingent of police led by Sub-Inspector Abdul Ghafoor Mangrio conducted raids at two different Autaqs of landlord Dr Aslam Chohan near Hingorno town on Thursday night and recovered 35 peasants of Kolhi and Bheel communities. All the released peasants would be produced in court on Friday for further proceedings.
