Peshawar: Foreign items worth millions seized, 14 arrested
PESHAWAR: As reported by the Dawn News on Friday, Deputy Collector Custom’s Anti-Smuggling Division Peshawar Arbab Qaisar Hameed with the help of local police intercepted 9 trucks on various roads and recovered foreign goods worth millions of rupees on Thursday.
Following some information six trucks were impounded on Charsadda Road and three on GT Road, said a press release.
The recovered items included foreign made 567,499 yards cloth, 11,100kg printing plate sheets, 50,271 pieces of perfume spray, 38,250 capsules of different brands, 27,600 tablets of different brands, 940 monitors, 960 packets (each 2kg) welding electric rods and 900 TV kits. The seized goods and vehicles were valued at about Rs188.58 million. Some 14 persons allegedly involved in the smuggling were arrested.
