4 children abducted by father in Sialkot
SIALKOT: As reported by The Express Tribune on Sunday, a man abducted his four minor children from his wife’s parents house in Mubarak Pura on Saturday night. According to police officials, Italian national Azam kidnapped his children from his wife Naila’s parent’s house after she left him in Italy and brought her children with her back to Pakistan. The high court ordered the Sialkot district police officer (DPO) Muhammad Nadeem to recover the children within fifteen days.
Durga Wali resident Azam married Mubarak Pura resident Naila in 2005 and took her to Italy where she gave birth to four children. During that time Azam began seeing another woman and brought her home and introduced her to Naila as his second wife. The couple began to have regular fights and Naila decided to separate from Azam. “I decided that I could not tolerate another woman in the house raising my children and he was adamant that it was his right to marry a second time,” she told police officials. “I began to save money for the flight home and after a few months I simply left without telling him because I knew he would not have let me go. He had already threatened to kill me if I took my children,” she said.
Naila told the police that she was tortured for several months after which she sent a message to her father through a relative. Her father, Waris, approached the courts and a bailiff was sent to recover Naila and her children. Azam demanded that Naila hand over the children to him but the sessions court rejected his demands last month. Following the rejection of his appeal Azam planned to abduct his children from home.
On November 8, Azam and four of his armed friends broke into Naila’s parents house and abducted 5-year-old Taha, 4-year-old Talha, 2-and-a-half-year-old Hussain and 8-month-old Hunain. Naila registered a case against Azam but the police were unable to locate her children as Azam was not a resident in Pakistan and was hiding out with different people.
