Karachi: 2 brothers shot dead by gangsters
They said some gunmen came to the home of 60-year-old Abdul Rasheed in Noor Muhammad Village, looking for his son Navaid.
“Navaid is associated with a gang in Lyari and has been on the run for the past few weeks,” said an official at the Pak Colony police station. “The family members said the gunmen after failing to find Navaid at home brought Abdul Rasheed and his 40-year-old younger brother Abdul Aziz alias Ustaad outside the house.”
The two sides exchanged hot words before the family heard several gunshots, said the official, adding that they rushed out only to find the brothers lying in a pool of blood.
The police said the double murder was the result of a rivalry between two criminal gangs in Lyari.
“Navaid is wanted in a few cases. He has been long associated with one of the gangs,” said an official at the Pak Colony police station. “The murder of his father and uncle was in fact an attempt to take revenge by members of a rival gang, who are enjoying power these days due to their political clout in the area.”
